The Clinical Guardian approach fully complements the role of a Clinical Governance Team consisting of peer group members and the application of best practice care pathways to meet patient need.
The methodology recognises that most clinicians work to high clinical standards managing patient care in demanding environments, often with considerable complexity and acuity. The application is designed to help manage risk and provide rapid feedback (positive and developmental), learning and support for the workforce, as well as identify any patient care concerns.
In addition, the system is designed to quickly identify and help manage any potential risk that may arise from clinicians who display patterns of behaviour that could pose a concern for patients, colleagues and/or, their employer.
